Environmental Policy

We take our environmental and ethical responsibilities very seriously at Bigjigs Rail. To ensure that our impact on the environment is minimal, we employ several procedures at both at Bigjigs Rail HQ and with the products themselves.

Some of the environmentally conscious procedures that we employ when designing our Bigjigs Rail products and in the day to day running of Bigjigs Rail are as follows:

We use rubberwood to produce our Bigjigs Rail range. This wood is sourced from a managed forest that is part of a replenishment programme.

We endevor to use the miminum packaging required to safely delivery our product to you. We do not make the box excessively larger than the product, by doing this we do not causes extra carbon emissions during transit.

All of the cardboard used for the packaging for our Bigjigs Rail range is made from 100% recycled cardboard and is fully recyclable. Please see our recycling information section for more details on how to recycle your Bigjigs Rail Box.

We are not a paperless office just yet at Bigjigs Rail HQ however we have cut down considerably on the amount of paper that we do use and we are working towards reducing this even further. All of the boxes that are use to protect our products when we send them to toy shops are made from 100% recycled cardboard. The packing material used to protect our products in transit is made from recycled boxes that we shred to make into packing material. Both the outer cardboard boxes and packaging material can be fully recycled.

Our Bigjigs Rail HQ has recently had Solar Panels Installed on the roof to make the most of the wonderful sunshine of the South East of England and of course to make our electricity consumption completely self sufficent!
